Late 2022 I had become suddenly very unwell, I had got a bad cough that just didn’t go away, two x-rays showed I just had an infection, my bloods were perfect. I was told I had pneumonia and these chest infections where consistent for many months with numerous rounds of antibiotics, however nothing helped , over time this then led to me losing weight, getting sick, and eventually after been exhausted daily. In may 2023 my GP also couldn’t figure out why I was so sick , He did everything in his power to get to the bottom of it, he sent me get an emergency CT and we then had answers I was diagnosed with a rare but thankfully very Slow grown lung cancer. September 2023 I was operated on to remove the tumour , I had some complications after but made a really great recovery.
It was a journey to say the least, the support I had from my beautiful wife, daughter, family, friends and even strangers was incredible. It is something I will never forget. MacMillan was a fantastic support system for my little family, they did everything to ensure we had our questions answers, our physical and mental wellbeing was cared for and more, they were amazing.
Now 2024 I am delighted to announce I am taking on this challange for this amazing charity and I am cancer free💚
